Always out to add more cities on out list of FrugalDates, now Miami makes the cut. The Barnacle historic house and park site with both a main house and a boat house. Users on Yelp have rated this as a great place to go and many skip the tour just to walk the paths and relax around the public areas with all the water around.

Although this FrugalDate isn’t free, it’s pretty close to it at a dollar per person for entry.

FrugalDate – Atlanta, GA

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 31 - 2009

The Atlanta boys of summer are out with and thanks to travelzoo they’ve taken the bat to the ticket prices for a few upcoming series. I can’t count the number of people that list “going to baseball games” or Braves (for Atlanta) on their online dating profile list of interests.

Turner Field - Atlanta, GAThe cheap seats became even cheaper with this deal (although you’ll have to remember to use the promo code. Follow the instructions on this link)

Outdoor Pavallion Seats for $11 each
Upper Box Seats for $6 each

A date to remember – under $20

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 28 - 2009

This date will have her hanging your picture upNow as a frugal dater, a first or second date should cost you less then one Andrew Jackson. (“That’s just our own personal rule”).

Now I’ve heard from some that women keep tabs on how much somebody spends on them and how much affection you get from them depends on where you’ve actually reached on the spending scale (we’re working on our piece about this actually and will link back later.)

This doesn’t mean you can’t have a great second date leaving a lasting first impression for under $20. This does not include any meals at a fast food joint’s dollar menu, coffee as the main course, using the free peanuts from the bar as the fill up either!! All of these things would lead to a lasting impression (and you being blocked from ever leaving a voice mail / text message / IM ever again).

chocolate dipped strawberryNow I have this as a second date, because I don’t invite anyone over my place until after I’ve had at least one date to meet them (and check for the crazy eyes) go through a few of my own personal secret checks to see if I have a potential stalker on my hands. And I might suggest that you do the same.

So if you’re not a total klutz in the kitchen, and your tv is big enough to watch a movie on comfortably (meaning that it’s bigger then a large cell phone screen) , and last but not least, your place is presentable / you can get it alone for an evening.

Here’s what you’re going to need

FrugalDate – Atlanta, GA

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 25 - 2009

I’m always looking for better date ideas then just the old standby of dinner and or a movie. That’s what you do when you can’t think of anything better.

Also you have to be able to spread your wings a little and get out of just your homestead area. There’s some success in being able to come up with something creative and a little more out of the box.

I found a 2 for 1 coupon to go visit the Southeastern Railway Museum in the metro Atlanta area (or more specifically, Duluth) on one of the local news stations websites.

Nice knickers ;)

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 23 - 2009

A buddy of mine told me about a great way he met somebody that would definitely classify as a frugal dating experience.

I want everyone to see this before I go any further – total cost of his date $4.50!!

washersAnd she has since told every single one of her girlfriends of the experience. (Now, what he paid aside, good publicity in a ring of gossiping girls is as mastercard would say, priceless) Now on to the details….

Don’t be afraid to show off your leash

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 23 - 2009

If you’re a dog lover (like I am then) then you’ll definitely want to break out your leash to show off your pooch. After all there doesn’t just have to be chemistry between the two of you, but your dog needs to give his or her approval as well if this is going to turn into anything serious.

Hey any lady I date seriously needs to get along with my dog, I’m not only asking him to give up his favorite sleeping spot on the bed next to me, he’s also always forgave me for every single thing I’ve ever done – No questions asked.

Here’s a list of the top 50 metropolitan areas and how many dog parks they have. Clicking on a city’s name will take you to an map showing all the names of the parks along with directions on how to get there.

Girl and guy facts

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 23 - 2009

When she wants a hug
she will just stand there.

When you break a girls heart,
she still feels it when
you run into each other 3 years later.

When a girl is quiet,
millions of things are running through her
mind.

When a girl is not arguing,
she is thinking deeply.

When a girl looks at you with eyes full of
questions,
she is wondering how long you will be
around.

When a girl answers, “I’m fine, ” after a
few seconds,
she is not fine at all.

You’re using a coupon? (on our date)

Posted by Frugal Dater On May - 18 - 2009

A girl I went out with recently (for the first and last time) got a little flustered when it came time to pay and I used a coupon to pay for the meal and she saw it.

“You’re using a coupon? On our date?” she asked me. I had to pause for a moment and count to three to think of a bit more tactful way to reply vs my first instincts.
