Guys, If you’ve ever seen a girl’s email box from an online dating site, it’s usually filled with … we’ll put it this way it’s usually filled.
It doesn’t even matter if she has a picture or not she’s getting responses and most are going to look something like this..
How did I take that snapshot? I simply made a fake account on one of the dating sites didn’t upload any picture and boom the mail just started flowing in. The thing about it is girls don’t even have to try and they’ll get their choice.
OkCupid actually did a study of first email responses (which you can find here) especially of things that worked and what didn’t work and here is some of what they found:
- Netspeak (or TextSpeak) doesn’t get responses
- Scratch sexy, cute, beautiful, cool, hot from that first message
- Don’t ask them to contact you outside the network on the first email (like on gmail, aol, hotmail, yahoo, or via text message)
- These openers go right in the trash (hi, holla, hello, wus up)
On the opposite side of the coin, here’s some things that they found that did work:
- Using words like: awesome, nice, fascinating got good response rates
- Pretty works – but only as an adverb (pretty sure, pretty nice, pretty good)
