Friday night is coming up again and what do you do? How about a free concert?

Hot Summer Nights Free concert featuring Donnie Murray and also featuring Susan Sherlock, hammered dulcimer.  Art exhibit by featured artist Jon Rouche of Rock Hill, SC.  It’s indoors – and you’ll need to  bring a chair!

Sometimes going to the live theatre beats going to the movies, after all not all great productions get brought to the big screen. Shear Madness is one of the longest running broadway shows lasting over 20 years. (As a side note – we’re posting this a little earlier then normal since there’s a limited number of free tickets available)

Enjoy Charlotte’s funniest show for FREE on Sept. 1. This special FREE performance is available first come, first serve while tickets remain available. There is a limit of 2 tickets per order and one order per person. To reserve your seats, click the link or call 704.372.1000. Your Free Tickets will be available for pickup at the Belk Theater box office prior to the show. Starting two hours before showtime on Sept. 1, they will be available for pickup at the Stage Door Theater.

Ok Frugal Daters time for a free date that has a bit of a literary twist to it – a poetry reading and as an added bonus it’s at a coffee house (although most of them are)

This monthly event is hosted by CVCC instructor Scott Owens and co-sponsored by Main Street Rag.

Charlotte on a Tuesday night (between 5pm & 10pm)  and you have less money then could burn a hole in your pocket then you might want to take your date to the Mint Museum of Art. Who knows they might get excited by a little free culture.

Now even though we’re all going through tough times (including the museum) the letter from the Executive Director (available for viewing on the office website) stated:

We are proud to continue to grant free access to school groups, offer discounted admission to students and senior citizens, and provide the community with free visiting hours on Tuesdays. I hope the public will continue to take advantage of these benefits and visit us often.
