Looking for something FREE to do today in Miami? The Fairchild Botanical Gardens is waiving it’s $20 per person entrance fee on Sundays in August.

Walking the grounds will introduce you to a large variety of tropical plants with their amazing array of sizes and shapes.  The garden includes many collections and displays such as the tropical flower garden, spiny forest of Madagascar, rainforest, vine pergola, Victoria amazonica pool, butterfly garden, palmetum, tropical fruit pavilion, conservatory,  Bailey Palm Glade, Jewels of the Caribbean, and the Keys Coastal Habitat.   All of these are brought together in a unified design that flows from one area to another.

Please allow two hours or more if you plan to walk the entire garden.  Benches can be found throughout the garden for moments of rest and enjoyment.  Additionally we offer tram tours year round and walking tours seasonally.

Always out to add more cities on out list of FrugalDates, now Miami makes the cut. The Barnacle historic house and park site with both a main house and a boat house. Users on Yelp have rated this as a great place to go and many skip the tour just to walk the paths and relax around the public areas with all the water around.

Although this FrugalDate isn’t free, it’s pretty close to it at a dollar per person for entry.
